Sheena is a highly experienced, doctoral-trained Physician Assistant specializing in Psychiatry services for children, adolescents, and adults. She discovered her true passion for psychiatry when she joined MedPsych in 2019, after working in general medicine for 11 years. Deeply committed to helping her patients achieve happy, healthy lives, Sheena brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her practice.
At MedPsych, Sheena stands out as an authority in autism, dedicating her work to diagnosing and treating patients with autism. She conducts comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations, providing critical insights that support families in their journey. Additionally, she has significant experience caring for children with developmental disabilities and has a deep understanding of the challenges parents face. Sheena has a passion for helping children and adolescents with developmental disabilities reach their full potential and optimal wellbeing.
Sheena approaches her adult patients with understanding and compassion, taking into consideration their medical history, life circumstances, and life stressors. She is adept at managing chronic psychiatric disorders and those requiring more complex medication regimens. By staying up to date on the latest treatments, Sheena ensures she can offer a fresh perspective to patients feeling stuck with their current treatment plans.
Sheena’s approach to care is both conservative and holistic. She emphasizes the importance of individualized treatment plans and collaborates closely with patients’ therapists, ensuring that each patient receives tailored medication management and focused attention on their overall well-being. With her background in general medicine, Sheena has a deeper understanding of patients’ medical needs and how these impact their mental health and treatment plans.
Sheena graduated with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Saint Francis University in 2008 and a Bachelor of Health Science from the same institution in 2007. She earned her Doctor of Medical Science in Psychiatry from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in December 2020.
Outside of her professional life, Sheena loves spending time outdoors in the mountains, fishing, and enjoying quality time with her family.
